Hot Rod and the Jet

This past summer we were given a real treat with a visit to the Warbirds Museum in Paso Robles.  Now I have to admit that war stuff is not at the top of my list, but the visit did offer a cool place to hang out during a VERY hot day.  To my delight, when we arrived I discovered the museum had added a wing showcasing oldie cars and some fun related items.  Now  that made me a very happy camper.

As we wandered on over to the car museum, sitting out in front of the entrance is this sweet little Ford Hot Rod.  From my photographer eye I saw something even more exciting; this terrific shot showing the jet and the hot rod in the same frame.  Is that fulfilling the need for speed or what?Image

Vicky In Peach

At a recent photo outing in Paso Robles, I spotted this beautiful two tone peach  1937 Crown Victoria 4 door Convertible parked just outside the show area.  This sweet ride, shows off the classic 1937 grill and vents.  I love the customized paint job and pinstripes.   Pure Royalty.Image

So many beautiful Classic Cars at this past Reno’s Hot August Nights event; it would be hard to pick just one as my favorite.  I am always drawn to shiny black and chrome.  So as I approached this car I knew nothing could have captured my attention better than a Classy Cadillac. Even more of a prize view was this classic in pristine condition.

I spoke with the owners of this 1949 Cadillac and found out they have owned this car since 1997.   The couple worked on this classic charmer for the past 2 years to restored it to it’s original condition.  Kudo’s for a fine masterpiece.  It is Cherry!  ImageImage

A “Hot” Shave It Custom Rod

At my recent visit to Reno’s Hot August Nights Classic Car show; I had the opportunity to meet Kerry Coon, Owner of Shave It Customs from Santa Cruz, California.  He was showing this chopped beauty and trust me it was a hit.  Just walking by it caught my eye.  First the roof came up to my belly button, and I’m on the shorter side.  In one of my shots you will see a couple of kids peaking in the windows and checking out the interior. From my perspective seeing these kids next to the car really let you know how low it was.  The paint and tires (especially those two giant ones on the rear, took the show.  As Kerry drove it through the Sparks Cruise that night he would gun that engine and the crowd would roar with delight.

I spoke with Kerry briefly while admiring his car and discovered he was the sole builder of this black and green beauty.  He said he had designed and built the car himself.  He spent many hours chopping, wrenching and painting this little number.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  Thanks for sharing Kerry.
