Master Of The Road

Country backroads always provide wonderful surprises like this old but pretty red Buick. She was just sitting there waiting for her portrait to be taken. Now she may have aged a bit but she still has lots of class.

Little Red TBird

I can feel it now; wind in my hair, sun beating down enhancing the tan, all cylinders full out as I tool down the road (in my mind of course) in this little red TBird. It is good to free the mind and visualize!

I know you are dreaming it too. One of my first old classic finds that I photographed a few years ago. Still one of my very favorite pieces.

Sleek and Classy

I love every thing about a Corvette. I really do not think it matters what year it was made either. The lines are sleek and classy. Even when you look at a photo of just a part of this beauty; you can imagine yourself behind the wheel rolling down the road at breakneck speeds. I know it brings smile to everyone each time print or pull the photo up on the screen to show someone. So time to share it with you. Enjoy the ride!

So many beautiful Classic Cars at this past Reno’s Hot August Nights event; it would be hard to pick just one as my favorite.  I am always drawn to shiny black and chrome.  So as I approached this car I knew nothing could have captured my attention better than a Classy Cadillac. Even more of a prize view was this classic in pristine condition.

I spoke with the owners of this 1949 Cadillac and found out they have owned this car since 1997.   The couple worked on this classic charmer for the past 2 years to restored it to it’s original condition.  Kudo’s for a fine masterpiece.  It is Cherry!  ImageImage

48′ Mercury

I found this cherry 48′ Mercury on an outing yesterday with the In-Laws. They were treating me to a visit to the Estrella Warbirds museum in Paso Robles. Now war memorabilia is not really my thing. Being the adventurous photographer I am, I figured I would be able to find something interesting to photograph.

Low and behold the museum had an add on attraction…an auto museum. That was all I needed to go straight to the really good stuff. I was in my photographer heaven!

So this little beauty caught my eye, being eye popping red and all. I love the detail and chrome lines. The history was interesting as well. It noted the this style of Mercury was considered “The poormans’ Cadillac.” Sweet ride for the time.

First Chop

I have discovered on my photo journey shooting custom cars, that classic is in the eye of the beholder. Every car is like a finger print, unique to the person building it. At my recent photo travels to the Good Guys Show in Pleasanton this past weekend, I met a young man showing his car for the first time. As I admired his vehicle he shared his story with me of how this was his first chop. He was aprehensive to try it but didn’t hold back. He took the top off laid it on the ground and did the “Holy Crap” what have I done moment. From his story he said,” I took a breath…and then went right back to making this little beauty. It took me many laboring hours taking it apart and putting her back together. And my wife was so patient while i forge forward on this project with my many hours spent in the garage.”

I can tell you I was impressed with this young man’s passion and determination to stick with it and forge forward. He was proud to of his story and I was glad he shared.ImageImageImage.
